Submissions

Submissions of either writing or photographs are welcome and should be directed to:

The requirements for submission are:

*It must be original work.

*Haiku are the preferred form of writing, or else short poems. Stories and other writing will be considered, but the shorter the better.

*English is the preferred language, but work in other languages will be considered.

*Haiku are very flexible in English and can be adapted to sundry themes, many of them entirely outside the traditional Japanese forms. Our use of the form is not traditional. Be creative. The only rule is: it must have seventeen syllables.

*You must be a resident of (or long term visitor to, or at very least a current backpacker in) Malacca, Malaysia. Our purpose is to showcase Malaccan writers and photographers. We are interested in the spirit of place.

Photographs should be taken in Malacca and should be submitted in jpeg format.

The editor (in association with his advisors) reserves the right to reject submissions for any reason whatsoever.
